Although spot gold briefly dipped to a seven-week low, buying on the dip combined with safe-haven demand stemming from the unresolved situation in the Middle East drove prices higher, and it ultimately closed up 1.64% at $4,182.45 per ounce;spot silver ultimately closed up 1.37% at $61.47 per ounce. <br\/>The U.S. Department of Energy announced plans to lend 40 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to companies to stabilize fuel prices. Kpler data showed that crude oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz and alternative routes have recovered to nearly 80% of pre-war levels, significantly easing supply-side concerns.WTI crude oil closed down 4.31% at $88.07 per barrel; Brent crude oil closed down 3.03% at $95.44 per barrel. <br\/>In the U.S. stock market, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 0.25%, the S&amp;P 500 fell 0.16%, and the Nasdaq dropped 0.09%.Meta Platforms (META.O) rose more than 3%, SK Hynix (SKHY.O) gained 2.6%, and Oracle (ORCL.N) advanced 4%.
